1.7. Ventilation, heating and air conditioning

Ventilation and heating
For regulation of air temperature the system of mixing of cold and hot air is used. This system provides quick-response regulation of air temperature which practically does not depend on the speed of the movement of the car. Air supply size in salon is defined by the speed of rotation of the fan. Therefore for effective work of system of heating and ventilation the fan has to be switched on even on the run of the car.
For heating of a zone of an arrangement of legs of the passengers sitting on back sitting, warm air is brought on air ducts which pass under a rug.

Central ventilating grates
Air can come to salon through both central ventilating grates. Extent of opening of lattices and air supply through them depend on position of the regulator executed in the form of the rotary flywheel and placed between lattices. In extreme position of the regulator air supply through ventilating grates completely stops.

The direction of streams of air from the central lattices can be adjusted at will, as in the horizontal, and vertical plane by means of rychazhok which provide an inclination of lattices and turn of deflectors (fig. 1.90).

Side ventilating grates

Air can come to interior of the car through the left and right side ventilating grates located in the doorway for the driver and passengers (fig. 1.91).

Cold or warm air arrives on having blown both wind, and side glasses of forward doors (mainly, in zones which provide visibility of external rear-view mirrors from a driver's seat) (fig. 1.92).

Air conditioning system *
The system of ventilation, heating and air conditioning represents the uniform functional complex intended for providing the most comfortable conditions of dwelling in the car during any season and irrespective of weather conditions and ambient temperature. The block of cooling of air conditioning system carries out decrease in temperature and humidity of air, and also its filtration from dust (including from pollen of plants). The block of heating of system of heating provides temperature increase of air in any operating modes depending on position of the regulator of temperature. The amount of the air coming to salon depends on an operating mode of the fan.

The button serves for inclusion in work and switching off of the conditioner of air (fig. 1.93).
Launch the engine, set the required operating mode of the fan by means of the regulator and press the button of turning on of the conditioner of air. At its inclusion the indicator will light up. For switching off of the conditioner once again press the same button. It must be kept in mind that the conditioner of air does not work if the switch of the modes of the fan is in situation "OFF" or ambient temperature below zero.

       PREVENTION
If the air conditioning system works during the movement of the car at long rises or in the conditions of the heavy city traffic, watch engine temperature. Operation of the conditioner of air can become the engine overheat reason. If temperature of cooling liquid exceeds admissible value, switch off the air conditioning system.

The regulator provides smooth change in wide limits of air temperature, the car (fig. 1.94) coming to salon. At the same time external air can be warmed up, cooled or go to salon without change of temperature. Movement of the handle of the regulator to the left – increase in extent of cooling of air (a blue zone). Movement of the handle of the regulator to the right – increase in heating of air (a red zone).

The switch is intended for regulation of speed of rotation of the fan. In total four working position of the switch which corresponds to four steps of speed of rotation of the fan (fig. 1.95) are provided.

The regulator allows to set the desirable mode of distribution of the air (fig. 1.96) coming to salon.
PERSON: air comes to salon through the central and side ventilating grates.
TWO-LEVEL MODE: air comes to salon through the central, side ventilating grates and the lower openings in a zone of an arrangement of legs of the forward passenger and driver.
LEGS: air, generally comes to salon through openings in a zone of an arrangement of legs of the forward passenger and driver.
AND HAVING BLOWN in LEGS GLASSES: air goes to nozzles of an obduv of a windshield and the lower openings in a zone of an arrangement of legs of the driver and forward passenger.
HAVING BLOWN in GLASSES: air goes to nozzles of an obduv of a windshield and side glasses of forward doors.

Press the switch button at the movement on strongly dusty area or in a dense transport stream to avoid hit in interior of the car of dust and gas-polluted air (fig. 1.97). This mode can be also useful to bystry decrease or temperature increase of air in salon. At inclusion of the mode of recirculation the indicator lights up and receipt in salon of external air stops.
For switching off of the mode of recirculation of air and renewal of ventilation of interior of the car it is necessary to press the same button repeatedly. At the same time the indicator will go out.

       PREVENTION
It is not necessary to use the air recirculation mode long time. It can lead to increase in humidity of air in salon and to fogging of glasses. The movement with the misted glasses is dangerous as at the same time the review from the car worsens and the probability of the road accident increases.

Maximum mode of cooling of air

This mode is recommended to be used in hot weather or after the long parking of the car in the sun (fig. 1.98). Open for a short time windows to air interior of the car from heated air.
Air conditioner switch: it is included.
Air recirculation mode switch: it is included.
Air distribution regulator: PERSON.
Air temperature regulator: extreme left situation (blue zone). Switch of operating modes of the fan: situation "4".

Normal mode of cooling of air

The normal mode is recommended to be used at trips around country highways (fig. 1.99).
Air conditioner switch: it is included.
Air recirculation mode switch: it is switched off.
Air distribution regulator: PERSON or TWO-LEVEL MODE. Air temperature regulator: in a blue zone.
Switch of operating modes of the fan: at will.

It is recommended to use in off-season when the low ambient temperature and not enough sunlight keeps. If the regulator of air temperature is turned in average situation (between blue and red zones), warmer air will come to a zone of an arrangement of legs, and colder – to the top part of interior of the car (fig. 1.100).
Air conditioner switch: it is included.
Air recirculation mode switch: it is switched off.
Air distribution regulator: TWO-LEVEL MODE. Air temperature regulator: between blue and red zones.
Switch of operating modes of the fan: at will.

External air comes to salon through the central and side ventilating grates (fig. 1.101).
Air conditioner switch: it is switched off.
Air recirculation mode switch: it is switched off.
Air distribution regulator: PERSON or TWO-LEVEL MODE. Air temperature regulator: at will.

Air temperature regulator: extreme right situation (red zone). Switch of operating modes of the fan: situation "4". At condensation of moisture and fogging of glasses switch off the air recirculation mode.

Air conditioner switch: it is switched off or included.
Air recirculation mode switch: it is switched off.
Air distribution regulator: AND HAVING BLOWN in LEGS GLASSES or HAVING BLOWN in GLASSES.
Air temperature regulator: at will.

       PREVENTION
Do not turn on the regulator of distribution of air in position of the LEG and HAVING BLOWN in GLASSES or HAVING BLOWN in GLASSES in very damp weather at receipt in salon of cold air (the heater is switched off). The difference of ambient temperatures and a windshield can cause condensation of moisture on the external surface of glass and deterioration in conditions of the review from the car.

       NOTE
For increase in efficiency of an obduv of glasses and acceleration of removal of condensate put the air conditioner into operation.

Recommendations about operation of the conditioner of air
• If the car was on the parking under direct beams of the sun before turning on the air conditioner, open windows and air salon.
• In order that in rainy weather to purify the misted glasses of condensate, reduce air temperature in salon, having turned on the conditioner. This reception is useful during a rainy season when humidity of air is very high.
• When driving on the city with an intensive transport stream system effectiveness of air conditioning can decrease because of frequent stops and the movement of the car with a small speed.
• If the conditioner of air is not used long time (month or more), it is necessary to include once a week it for several minutes, even in the winter. Before turning on of the conditioner launch the engine, periodic turning on of the conditioner promotes preservation of a layer of lubricant on details of the compressor and consolidations and prolongs air conditioning system service life.
• The compressor of the air conditioning system does not turn on if the switch of the modes of the fan is in situation "OFF" or ambient temperature below zero.
