To unlock the cowl lock, pull for the handle located under the control panel to the left of a steering column (fig. 1.83).

2. Press a latch up and lift a cowl (fig. 1.84).

3. Record a cowl in the lifted situation the supporting rack (fig. 1.85).

4. Before closing a cowl, raise it a little, take out a rack from a nest of a cowl and insert it in the holder (fig. 1.86). It will prevent jingle on the run of the car.

5. Lower a cowl, then softly press its forward part for locking of the lock. Check reliability of fixing of a cowl.

       PREVENTION

Before opening a cowl, switch off ignition, take out a key from the ignition lock, include the first transfer or transfer of a backing (in the mechanical transmission) or move the lever of the selector of ranges of automatic transmission to situation "P" (parking), completely turn on the parking brake.

If it is necessary to carry out any works in a motor compartment at the working engine, move a control lever with the transmission to situation "N" (neutral) or "Р" (parking) and completely turn on the parking brake. At failure to follow these recommendations perhaps unexpected start-off of the car from the place. In order to avoid traumatizing it is always necessary to switch off the engine and to take out a key from the ignition lock before beginning works in podkapotny space. Separate cases which demand carrying out adjusting and other works on the working engine can be an exception. Carrying out works in a motor compartment at the working engine, be careful of hit of clothes, especially a tie or a scarf, in blades of the fan and other rotating engine details. When tightening clothes in the rotating parts getting injured and damage of details of the car is possible. Besides, it is recommended to remove the watch, bracelets and rings.

The hatch for placement of skis is located behind an armrest of back sitting (fig. 1.87). You can safely transport in the car of a ski and other similar lengthy objects, without being afraid to damage or soil an upholstery of salon. To use the hatch, it is necessary to execute the following.

1. Lower an armrest of back sitting and open the cover located behind an armrest.

2. Press the button located from above armrest nests and open the hatch to the luggage compartment (fig. 1.88). Besides, the hatch can be open by means of the button which is located on the hatch.

3. Open a trunk lid and place lengthy freight along the car in a luggage carrier and salon.

4. By means of the available strap reliably attach freight to an armrest.

       NOTE

You hold the hatch closed when you do not transport lengthy freights. Before closing of the hatch check that it was pure and dry from the internal and outer side. It will prevent emergence of a mold.

For opening of the ventilating hatch press and hold in the pressed situation a command key the hatch (to press an arrow "B") (fig. 1.89). For closing of the hatch press and keep in the pressed situation the opposite edge of a command key the hatch (to press an arrow "C").

       PREVENTION

Be very careful and be careful of hit in an aperture of the ventilating hatch of any parts of your body during closing.

Do not rise and do not lean out in an aperture of the ventilating hatch on the run of the car.

Before opening of the ventilating hatch remove from it water drops, snow, ice or sand.

Do not put on the ventilating hatch and on a roof near it heavy objects. In order to avoid traumatizing passengers be careful when closing the ventilating hatch, especially if in the car there are children. Jamming by the clothes hatch is possible. Make sure that all passengers know rules of the handling of the ventilating hatch.

Attentively control process of closing of the ventilating hatch. You watch that nothing got under an edge of the closed hatch. Before leaving the car, take out a key from the ignition lock.
