13.4. Steering wheel and steering column

Switch of turn and/or switch of a screen wiper

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Remove the lower panel of a combination of devices.
3. Turn out screws from any party of the top panel of a cover. For ensuring access to screws turn a steering wheel on 90 ° to the right or to the left.
4. Turn out three screws from the lower panel. Remove the handle from the lever of switching off of the lock and unscrew the inclined lever.
5. Disconnect the switch from a casing, having pressed a spline on any party of the switch.

Installation
1. Connect electric sockets to the switch, again insert the switch into a casing.
2. Install panels.
3. Install the lever of switching off of the lock and the inclined lever.
4. Install the lower panel of a combination of devices.
5. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

Steering wheel

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Uncover a sound signal of a steering wheel and disconnect wires of a sound signal.
3. Turn off a nut and remove the holder. Note the mutual provision of a steering shaft and steering wheel.
4. By means of the KM-210-A tool remove a steering wheel.
5. If it is necessary, disconnect a contact ring from a steering wheel.

Installation
1. Establish a contact ring.
2. Combine tags on a steering wheel and steering to a shaft. Turn a cam of cancellation of a signal on a steering wheel to the left.
3. Establish the holder and screw a nut, having tightened its moment 17 N • m.
4. Bend the holder's splines.
5. Establish guides and a cover of a sound signal.

Cylinder and switch of the lock of ignition

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Remove the lower panel of a combination of devices.
3. Turn out 5 screws and remove casings of a steering column.
4. Block the lock cylinder as follows:
– insert a key into the switch of ignition and turn it in an II position;

– press a lock spring down (fig. 13.50).

5. Remove the ignition switch (fig. 13.51). Disconnect a plait of wires and turn out the adjusting screw.

Installation
1. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Install the ignition switch, connect a plait of wires and screw the screw.
3. Block the ignition switch cylinder.
4. Establish top and lower a casing of a steering column.
5. Install the lower panel of a combination of devices.

Steering column

       PREVENTION
Remove a steering column only in a case:
– if the steering column demands replacement;
– if the casing of steering transfer and the switch of ignition demands replacement;
– if other operation demands removal of a steering column.

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Remove switches of indexes of turn and a screen wiper.
3. Disconnect a plait of wires.
4. Disconnect a cable of the parking lock (cars with the automatic transmission). Establish forward wheels for the movement directly forward.

5. Turn out a coupling bolt from a flange of a shaft of steering transfer (fig. 13.52).
6. Turn out a bolt of the lower fastening of a casing of a steering column assembled to the dashboard.
7. Turn out bolts with the cut-off head under the dashboard as follows:
– you nakernit the left bolt with the cut-off head;
– drill an opening with a diameter of 31 mm;
– enter a stripper of bolts of 1411 into the drilled opening and turn off a bolt with the cut-off head.
8. Direct a steering column assembled from a flange of a shaft of steering transfer and carefully put knot.

Installation
• Center spokes of a steering wheel diagonalno so that they were directed down (the provision of wheels directly forward).
• Place the leveling plug in a steering column.
• Adjust steering transfer to situation directly forward.
• Establish an opening for a coupling bolt of a shaft of steering transfer horizontally up.
1. Carefully send a steering shaft to a flange of a shaft of steering transfer.

       PREVENTION
Provide a support for a steering column assembled for a while when bolts with the cut-off head are turned out. Do not leave a steering column assembled without support.

2. Freely establish the following holders:
– lamellar splines on the dashboard;
– the lower adjusting bolt of fastening of a casing of a steering column assembled to the dashboard;
– a coupling bolt in a flange of a shaft of steering transfer. Insert a bolt into not carving opening of a flange.
Tighten the required moment the following threaded connections:
– lower bolt of fastening of a casing of a steering column assembled;

– a bolt with the cut-off head on the left side (fig. 13.53);
– new самоконтрящуюся a nut (washer) on the right side.
3. Pull a steering shaft up to contact with the ball bearing of a steering shaft and tighten a coupling bolt the moment of 25 N • m.
4. Smoothly bring the leveling plug out of a steering column.
5. Connect a plait of wires.
6. Establish a cable of launch of the parking lock (cars with the automatic transmission).
7. Install switches of indexes of turn and a screen wiper. Check that steering transfer is established for the movement directly forward.
8. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

Repair of a steering column without adjustment of a tilt angle

Dismantling
1. Remove a steering wheel.
2. Remove a steering column from the car.

3. Remove the leveling plug 11 (fig. 13.54) from the lower end of a steering shaft.
4. Remove the top spring 2 helmsmen of a shaft.
5. Remove a persistent washer 3.
6. Turn out screws 4 fastenings of a casing.
7. Remove a casing of 5 switches of indexes of turn and a screen wiper.
8. Turn the lock cylinder in the provision of "VKL".
9. Remove a steering shaft assembled 15 from the main casing assembled 10.
10. Turn out a bolt 7 with the cut-off head, remove washers 8 and a casing of the switch of ignition 12 as follows:

– drill heads of bolts 2 (fig. 13.55) to steel washers by means of a drill 1 with a diameter of 6,5 mm;
– separate washers 8 and a casing of the switch of ignition 12 (see fig. 13.54) from a casing of a steering column 9;
– by means of sponges of a vice turn out a carving part of bolts 7 with the cut-off head from a casing of the switch of ignition 12.
11. Remove the ignition lock cylinder from a casing of the switch of ignition 12.
12. Turn out the lock screw of the switch of ignition 13.
13. Remove the ignition switch assembled 14.
14. Turn out bolts 6 with the cut-off head and remove a casing of a steering column 9 as follows:
– a drill with a diameter of 8,0 mm drill heads of bolts 6;

       PREVENTION
After drilling clear all details of metal shaving.

– separate a column 9 casing from the main casing assembled 10;
– by means of sponges of a vice turn out a carving part of bolts 6 with the cut-off head from a casing 10.

       PREVENTION
All holders in the following steps have to be densely put before tightening them till the required inhaling moment (about 15 N • м).
To provide alignment of a spline on an axis of the lock cylinder and a punched opening on the ignition switch, the lock cylinder and the switch of ignition 14 have to be in the provision of "VKL" before installation.

Assembly

2. Install the switch of ignition 1 (fig. 13.56) to a casing 3. Make sure that the lock pin hooks on an ear on the switch of ignition 1.
3. Screw the lock screw 13 (see fig. 13.55) fastenings of the switch of ignition and tighten it by hand (about 0,3 N • м).
4. Establish an ignition switch casing in a casing of the switch of ignition 12.
5. Install the cylinder a casing of the ignition switch 12 to a casing of a steering column 9 together with washers 8 and bolts 7 with the cut-off heads. Tighten bolts 7 before cutting of heads (about 11 N • м).
6. Turn the ignition switch cylinder in the provision of "VKL".
7. Establish a steering shaft assembled 15 in the lower end of a casing assembled 11.
8. Place the lock cylinder in situation "VYKL LOCK", take out a key.
9. Rotate a steering shaft 15 before gearing of a lock bolt and blocking of a steering shaft by it.
10. Establish a casing of 5 switches of indexes of turn and a screen wiper to a casing of a steering column 9 and fix by screws 4, having tightened their moment 3,4 N • m.
11. Install the leveling plug 11 from the lower party of a steering shaft 15 and on the lower end of a casing assembled.
12. Install a steering column in the car.

       PREVENTION
After connection of a steering column to an intermediate axis get the leveling plug 11 of a casing assembled 10 and leave on the helmsman to a shaft 15 for further use.

13. Establish a persistent washer 3 and a spring of the 2nd top part of a steering shaft on a steering shaft 15.
14. Establish a steering wheel on a steering shaft 15 and fix by a six-sided nut 1, having tightened its moment 17 N • m.

Repair of a steering column with adjustment of a tilt angle

Dismantling
1. Remove a steering wheel.
2. Remove a steering column from the car.

3. Remove the leveling plug from the lower end of a steering shaft 22 (fig. 13.57).
4. Remove a spring of the compensating cam 2 from the top end of a shaft assembled 22.
5. Turn out screws of fastening of a casing of switches assembled 6.
6. Remove a casing of switches assembled 7.
7. Squeeze the holder of a spring 4 and remove a spring of the top bearing 5.
8. Remove a lock ring, the holder of a spring 4 (see fig. 13.57), the top spring of the bearing 5, a nest of an internal ring 8 and an internal ring 9.
9. Extend the lever 12 of an inclination of a steering column and lift a column up to an emphasis.
10. Insert the screw-driver with a crosswise head into a square opening in the holder of a spring 29, press down and turn on the left to release the holder 29 and a spring 18.
11. Remove the holder of a spring 17 and a spring 18.
12. By means of the J21854-01 tool remove two axes of turn.
13. Turn the lock cylinder in the provision of "VKL".
14. Extend the lever of an inclination of a steering column to release a casing of a column 12 and to remove a column casing from a casing support.
15. Turn out bolts 10 with the cut-off head, remove washers 11 and a casing of the switch of ignition 19 as follows:

– drill heads of bolts 2 (fig. 13.58) to steel washers by means of a drill 1 with a diameter of 6,5 mm;
– separate washers 11 (see fig. 13.57) and a casing of the switch of ignition 19 from a casing of a steering column 12;
– by means of sponges of a vice turn out a carving part of bolts 10 with the cut-off head from a casing of the switch of ignition 19.

       PREVENTION
After drilling clear all details of metal shaving.

16. Remove the ignition lock cylinder from a casing of the switch of ignition 19.
17. Turn out the lock screw of the switch of ignition 28.
18. Remove the ignition switch assembled 20.
19. Remove a steering shaft assembled 22 from a support of a casing 16.
20. By means of flat-nose pliers remove an emphasis of an inclination 14.
21. Turn out basic screws 17 and remove a basic casing 16 from a casing assembled 15.
If it is necessary, the steering shaft assembled 22 can be served as follows.

       PREVENTION
To office of the top part of a shaft 26 and lower 21 pay attention to interaction of the top part of a shaft with a groove of a lock bolt in situation for 12 hours and a flute of a coupling bolt of the lower part of a shaft for 7 hours. Keep in mind this orientation for the correct return assembly.

Sort a steering shaft:

– turn the aligning sphere 2 (fig. 13.59) on 90 ° and remove from the top part of a shaft 7;
– separate halves of the sphere 2 and a spring of preliminary loading of the hinge 3.

Assembly
1. Grease halves of the aligning sphere 2 and 6 and a spring of preliminary loading of the hinge 3 with lithium lubricant.
2. Establish a spring 3 between halves of the sphere 2 and 6, having placed the ends of a spring in notches.
3. Grease the spherical end of the top part of a shaft 26 (see fig. 13.57) with lithium lubricant. Establish the sphere 25 in the top part of a shaft 26 and turn it on 90 °.
4. Grease the spherical end of the lower part of a shaft with 21 lithium lubricants.

       PREVENTION
For ensuring the correct orientation level the top part of a shaft 26 and the lower part of a shaft 21 as follows:

– place a groove of a lock bolt on the top part of a shaft of 6 (fig. 13.63) in situation "12 hours";
– the flute of a coupling bolt at the end of the lower part of a shaft 3 has to be in the family way "7 hours".

5. Establish the top part of a shaft 7 (see fig. 13.59) at an angle 90 ° to the lower part of a shaft 1 and straighten the top part of a shaft 7 in relation to the lower part of a shaft 1.

       PREVENTION
All holders in the following steps have to be densely put before tightening them till the required inhaling moment.

Installation
1. Establish a support of a casing 16 (see fig. 13.58) to a casing assembled 15 and fix by basic screws 17, having tightened their moment 16 N • m.
2. Establish an inclined emphasis 14 on a support of a casing 16, fix on the place.
3. Establish a steering shaft assembled 22 in a basic casing 16.
4. Grease both bearings in a column 12 casing with lithium lubricant and establish a column 12 casing on a shaft assembled 22 and a support of a casing 16.
5. Grease axes of turn 13 and 27 with lithium lubricant and establish them against the stop.

       PREVENTION
Axes of turn 13 and 27 need to be operet on a casing 12 after installation. Oboprite of an axis in three places with equal distance from each other.

6. Extend the inclination lever on a casing 12 and a steering column up to an emphasis.
7. Grease a spring with the 18th lithium lubricant.
8. Establish a spring 18 with the holder of a spring 29 as follows:
– be convinced that the spring 18 clings an approximate spline on a basic casing 16;
– insert the screw-driver with a crosswise head into a square opening in the holder of a spring 29, press down and turn before blocking on the place to the right.

       PREVENTION
To provide alignment of a spline on an axis of the cylinder of the switch of ignition and a punched opening on the ignition switch, the cylinder and the switch of ignition 20 have to be installed in the provision of "VKL" before installation.

9. Install the switch of ignition of 1 (fig. 13.64) to a casing 3. Make sure that the lock pin hooks on an ear on the switch of ignition 1.
10. Screw the lock screw 28 (see fig. 13.58) fastenings of the switch of ignition and tighten it by hand (about 0,3 N • м).
11. Install the ignition switch cylinder in a casing of the switch of ignition 19.
12. Establish a casing of the switch of ignition 19 to a casing of a steering column 12 together with washers 11 and bolts 10 with the cut-off heads. Tighten bolts 10 before cutting of heads (about 11 N • м).
13. Turn a key in the ignition lock in the provision of "VYKL" and take out a key.
14. Rotate a steering shaft 22 before gearing of a lock bolt and blocking of a steering shaft by it.
15. Establish an internal ring 9, a nest of an internal ring 8, the top spring of the bearing 5 and the holder of a spring 4.
16. Squeeze the holder 4 and insert a spring 5.
17. Establish a lock ring 3 in a flute on the top part of a shaft 26.
18. Establish a casing of 7 switches of indexes of turn and a screen wiper to a casing of a steering column 12 and fix by screws 6, having tightened their moment 3,4 N • m.
19. Install the leveling plug from the lower party of a steering shaft 21 and on the lower end of a casing assembled 15.
20. Install a steering column in the car.

       PREVENTION
After connection of a steering column to an intermediate axis get the leveling plug from a casing assembled 15 and leave on the helmsman to a shaft 22 for further use.

21. Establish a spring of the compensating cam 2 and a steering wheel on a steering shaft 26 and fix by a six-sided nut, having tightened its moment 17 N • m.
