13.3. Pump of the amplifier of steering

Check of a tension of a belt of the drive of the pump
1. Install the device for measurement of a tension on a belt.
2. If the device does not show the necessary tension, adjust a belt tension.
Adjustment of a tension of a belt
1. Install the device for measurement of a tension on a belt.
2. Weaken bolts and move the generator until the device shows the required tension.
3. Fix the generator.

Pulley of the pump of the amplifier of steering

Removal
1. Take off a belt from a pulley.
2. Turn out 3 bolts and remove a pulley.

Installation
1. If acted, install the pump on the engine.
2. Establish a pulley and fix it by 3 bolts.
3. Establish a belt on a pulley and adjust its tension.
4. If the pump was removed from the engine, remove air from the hydraulic drive of the amplifier of steering. Check the hydraulic drive for existence of leaks.

Pump of the amplifier of steering

Removal
1. Take off poliklinovy a belt.
2. Disconnect pressure head and returnable pipelines from the pump.
3. Remove the pump from an arm – access to bolts is provided through openings in a belt pulley.
4. Unclench 9 clips and remove the top casing of a gear belt.
5. Remove the pump of the amplifier of steering. If necessary remove a pulley from the pump.

1. Install the pump on the holder. Tighten bolts of fastening of the pump the moment of 25 N • m (fig. 13.24).
2. Establish the top casing of a gear belt and fix it by 9 clips.
3. Connect pressure head and returnable pipelines to the pump.
4. Establish a pulley and fix it by 3 bolts, having tightened their moment 27 N • m.
5. Establish poliklinovy a belt.
6. Fill in new liquid in the pump.
7. Remove air from the hydraulic drive of the amplifier of steering. Check the hydraulic drive for existence of leaks. In the presence of leaks eliminate them and remove air from the hydraulic drive of the amplifier of steering.

1. Remove details in the sequence shown in the drawing 13.26.
Establish details in the return sequence shown in the drawing 13.26.
Tighten a carving stopper of the control valve the moment to 75 N • m.

Removal and installation of a power shaft and/or ball bearing

1. By means of the corresponding flat-nose pliers for lock rings remove a lock ring 1 (fig. 13.27).
2. Remove a power shaft 2 and the bearing from a pump housing.

3. If there is a gap between a ledge of a power shaft and an internal ring of the bearing, before removal of the bearing measure it (fig. 13.28).

4. Opiry the bearing on an internal ring, a vypressuyta a shaft from the bearing (fig. 13.29).
Installation
1. Install the bearing on a power shaft. Pay attention to the provision of a big ledge correctly to arrange a section of a lock ring.
2. Smoothly insert knot of a power shaft into a pump housing, turning a power shaft so that vents of a shaft entered rotor vents.
3. Install the bearing against the stop in the case.

4. Establish a lock ring by the curved party outside of (fig. 13.30).

1. By means of the plug of the corresponding diameter or J22670 adaptation establish against the stop consolidation of a power shaft (fig. 13.32).

1. Remove a lock ring (fig. 13.34).

2. By means of a steel bar or a punch of suitable diameter press a nave of a press disk from a power shaft and remove a persistent plate (fig. 13.35).
3. Remove a sealing ring 2 and other rotating details from a pump housing. Removal of a press disk, perhaps, will require use of a press.
4. Remove a sealing ring from the plug assembled, you will throw out it.

1. Grease a new sealing ring and insert it into the plug in collecting (fig. 13.36).
2. Insert an adjusting pin into the case.
3. Insert into the case a spring over the plug assembled.
4. Grease a sealing ring and insert it on press a disk.

5. Arrange top of a press disk directly over an opening of an adjusting pin in a disk (fig. 13.37). It will help to combine an opening with an adjusting pin.
6. Install press a disk in the case. Make sure that the adjusting pin and an opening in a press disk are correctly combined.
7. Establish two adjusting pins for a pump ring of an opening in a press disk and smoothly establish a pump ring on these two pins. Make sure that tags on a pump ring are directed up.

8. Establish a rotor by the chiseled opening towards the end of a power shaft and insert ten blades (fig. 13.38).
9. Grease a sealing ring and insert it into the case.

10. Establish a basic plate, having convinced that deepenings in a basic plate are combined with openings for bolts in the case and the basic plate connects adjusting pins of a pump ring (fig. 13.39).
11. By means of a press press a basic plate so that it was possible to establish a lock ring.

12. Establish a lock ring so that its section was centered with an opening for a bolt in the case which is most closer to an entrance opening (fig. 13.40).

1. By means of a chisel remove the plug assembled from a power shaft of the case (fig. 13.41).

1. By means of the suitable tool and the plug of the corresponding diameter press the plug assembled into the case from a press disk (fig. 13.42).
2. Make sure that the plug assembled completely was installed in the case.

Removal and installation of a returnable tube
Removal
1. A suitable stopper close a returnable pipe that at an entrance to the pump to it shavings did not get.

2. By means of the gate 140 mm long and with a diameter of 12 mm, washers with a diameter of 12 mm and nuts remove the damaged returnable pipe (fig. 13.43).

1. Grease the end of a new returnable tube with "Solvent-75559" and "Loktitomadgezivom-290" and by means of the suitable tool install a returnable tube in the case (fig. 13.44).

Leakages of steering transfer and pump of the amplifier of steering

Check
Can lead the following reasons to leakages of steering transfer and the pump of the amplifier of steering:
– the tank is overflowed with liquid;
– aeration and pouring out of liquid;
– unreliable connection of hoses.

       PREVENTION
• Precisely define the place of leak.
• The power shaft and adjusting consolidations are closely to each other, and can be not clear, leak in system where exactly.
• The point from which liquid follows optional is a point where in system there is a leak.
• Determine the term of carrying out maintenance.

After dismantling clear area of leak.
Establish new consolidations.
Check the condensing surfaces of elements for existence of damages.
Tighten bolts the required moments.
Also following reasons resulting in malfunctions in the amplifier of steering board are possible:
– a liquid effluence on a garage floor;
– existence of noticeable leak of liquid in steering transfer or pump of the amplifier of steering;
– the rolling noise, especially at the parking or during the operation of the cold engine;
– loss of power of the amplifier of steering at the parking;
– at turn of a steering wheel it is necessary to use the considerable efforts.
At elimination of such malfunctions check hydraulic system of the amplifier of steering for existence of external leaks.

Check on existence of external leaks
The purpose of this operation is exact definition of the place of leak. It is the most difficult to isolate leaks like infiltration. To define the place of leakages like infiltration, use the following method.
At the switched-off engine dry wipe all hydraulic system of the amplifier of steering.
1. Check liquid level in a pump tank. If necessary add liquid.
2. Launch the engine and ask the assistant to turn several times a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop.

       PREVENTION
You do not hold the steering wheel turned against the stop during any period. It can damage a shaft of the pump of the amplifier of steering.

If leak is still observed, tighten a connecting nut the moment of 18 N • m

3. Find the exact place of leak and eliminate it. Places of possible leaks and methods of their elimination are given in drawings 13.45, 13.46.

Recommendations about replacement of consolidations
The Manzhetny consolidations condensing the rotating shaft demand special maintenance. Consolidations of this type are used in steering transfer and on driving to a pump shaft.
When replacing consolidation perform the following operations:
– carefully check and clear the condensed surfaces;
– replace a shaft only in case of detection of strong wear;
– if wear of a contact surface of manzhetny consolidation is insignificant, smooth out a surface a fine-grained emery paper;
– replace a shaft only in case of impossibility of an exception of leak at the first cleaning with a fine-grained emery paper.

Check of hydraulic system of the amplifier of steering

Check of hydraulic system of the amplifier of steering can be conducted independently with use of the manometer as it is described below (fig. 13.47).
They can be also carried out by means of the analyzer of power of steering transfer which measures both the stream speed, and pressure.
1. Establish a pressure head hose on the pump. By means of a small container collect liquid which can flow out.
2. Connect a free pressure head hose to the pump.
3. Connect the manometer between the line leading to steering transfer and the line conducting to the pump of the amplifier of steering.
4. Open the valve on the manometer.
5. Launch the engine. Allow system to reach working temperature, then check the level of liquid and, if necessary, add liquid.
6. Completely close the valve 3 times and write down pressure at each closing of the valve.
Pressure created by the pump, 552 - 862 kPa. If pressure exceeds 1380 kPa, check hoses for existence a perezhatiya. Check correctness of assembly of the dish-shaped valve on steering transfer.

       PREVENTION
Do not leave the valve closed more than on 5 with as damage of the pump is possible.

Pressure created by the pump (at the closed valve) not less than 6895 kPa. Pressure created by the pump (at the closed valve – pumps with standard technological properties): not less than 8619 kPa.
If values of pressure are rather high and the difference between them does not exceed 345 kPa, the pump functions normally. If values of pressure are rather high, but the difference between them exceeds 345 kPa, perform the following operations:
– on the control valve remove agnails by means of a fine-grained emery paper;
– wash out system;
– sort and clear the pump and steering transfer.
If values of pressure are lower than 6895 kPa or lower than 8619 kPa for pumps with standard technological properties, replace the control valve and carry out a repeated inspection. If values of pressure still low, replace a rotor and blades.
7. If values of pressure created by the pump correspond to demanded, leave the valve open and turn a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop and write down the maximum values of pressure. If pressure on both extreme provisions not to the equally maximum value of pressure created by the pump (at the closed valve), which is written down in the previous step is available internal leakage of steering transfer.
8. Switch off the engine.
9. Remove the test manometer.
10. Repeatedly connect a pressure head hose.
11. Check liquid level.

Adjustment and check
1. Cut off a clip, the fixing returnable hose conducting from steering transfer to the returnable line from the pump and throw out a clip.
2. Disconnect a returnable hose from the returnable line.
3. Smoothly bring the end of a sleeve without trailer fittings and a returnable pipe assembled over the end of the returnable line out of the pump and fix by a clip.

4. Connect the carving end of a returnable hose and a pipe assembled to a returnable part of steering transfer assembled and tighten a connecting nut the moment of 27 N • m (fig. 13.48).
5. Disconnect a pressure head pipe from steering transfer.
6. Connect a pressure head hose of the required length and tighten a connecting nut the moment of 27 N • m.
7. Connect other end of a pressure head hose to steering transfer assembled and tighten a connecting nut the moment of 27 N • m.
8. Launch the engine, leave it to idle about 10 with, then switch off it.
9. Check the level of working liquid of the amplifier of steering and if necessary bring to norm.
10. Launch the engine, turn a shaft of steering transfer on a whole revolution in each direction and hold about 5 pages at each emphasis.
11. Check for possible existence of points where there are leaks, and if necessary, repair them.

12. According to this scheme inspections of pressure or level of a stream can be also carried out.
Repeated installation
1. Disconnect a test pressure head hose and the returnable line from a pressure head pipe and the returnable line on the car.
2. Connect an initial pressure head hose and the returnable line to a pressure head pipe and the returnable line on the car.
3. Remove a test pressure head hose and the returnable line from steering transfer.
4. Establish steering transfer assembled to the car and connect pressure head and returnable lines.
5. Launch the engine and leave it to idle about 10 pages.
6. Stop the engine and check the level of working liquid of the amplifier of steering and if necessary bring to norm.
