8.2. Maintenance

Check of level of oil

Install the car on the elevator in horizontal position. An inspection of level of oil needs to be carried out on the cold transmission. Clear traffic jams and zones of pollution around. Turn out a stopper of check of level of oil from the transmission (fig. 8.6).
Curved wire check the oil level which has to be at the lower edge of a carving opening.
If necessary add oil. Screw and tighten a stopper with a new sealing ring of check of level/filling of oil and tighten it the required moment.
The secondary shaft of the F16 transmission has special openings for lubricant of the tooth gearing and the synchronizer. The amount of oil necessary for full filling, – 1,8 l.

Adjustment of the mechanism of gear shifting
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Install the gear shifting lever in neutral situation.

3. Weaken tightening a bolt of a rod (fig. 8.7).
4. Remove a stopper from an adjustment opening on a switching lever casing. Turn a switching rod on the left so that it was possible to insert a pin of 4,8 mm in size into an opening of a stopper of the intermediate lever of switching.
5. Remove a leather cover of the lever of gear shifting and extend it up to leave open the gear shifting lever mechanism.
6. Install the gear shifting lever which was still in neutral situation to the line of inclusion of 1-y/2-y transfer.
a. In position of the lever against the limiter and with the centered index tighten a bolt of fastening of a rod of a clamp.
b. Moment of an inhaling of 14 N • m.
c. Tighten in addition a bolt on a corner 90–180 °.

7. Check a gap between a clamp of 1 (fig. 8.9) and the limiter 2 with the lever installed in neutral situation. After adjustment the gap has to be equal to 3 mm.
8. Remove the directing pin with a diameter of 4,8 mm and screw a stopper.

9. Rotation of an adjusting nut And adjust position of the switch at distance In, as shown in the figure 8.10. Before adjustment unbend two blocking pads of fixing of a nut.
a. The size B – 11,5±0,2 mm.
b. Record an adjusting nut from an otvorachivaniye, having bent the blocking pads.
10. Install a leather cover on the console and center the console.
11. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

       PREVENTION
All transfers have to join and be switched off easily on the motionless car.

 Gear shifting lever

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Remove the central console.
3. Remove the handle from the gear shifting lever.
4. Remove a leather cover from the console and the lever of gear shifting.
5. Install the gear shifting lever in neutral situation.

6. Turn a clamp in the direction shown in the figure 8.11.
a. Take a pin and a clamp from the gear shifting lever.
b. Remove the gear shifting lever.

Installation
1. Arrange the gear shifting lever on a shaft and establish a pin and a clamp. Turn a clamp against the stop.
2. Install a leather cover on the lever and the console.
3. Center the console.
4. Install a new sealing ring on the lever.
5. Establish a rubber cover against the stop.
6. Heat the handle in water to 80 °C and install it on the gear shifting lever.
7. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

Draft of gear shifting, cover and plug

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a rod of a clamp and turn out a connecting bolt from draft of gear shifting. Remove a cover from draft of gear shifting.
3. Center the console.
4. Install the gear shifting lever in neutral situation.
5. Remove the gear shifting lever with a leather cover.
a. Turn a clamp in the direction shown in the figure 8.11.
b. Take a pin and a clamp from the gear shifting lever.

6. Remove the console (fig. 8.12).
7. Turn out bolts of fastening of a case.

8. Remove draft of gear shifting with a case then get draft from a case (fig. 8.13, 8.14).

9. Remove the plug of a tube and a holder of the bearing from a case (fig. 8.15).

10. Separate an insert from a holder of the bearing (fig. 8.16).

Installation
1. Establish an insert in a bearing holder.
2. Press a bearing holder from the inside into a case. Fill vents of an internal surface of an insert with silicone lubricant 1052863 or equivalent.
3. Establish draft of gear shifting through an insert in a case.
4. Establish a case and draft and screw bolts of fastening of a case.
5. Install the console.

6. Install the lever on a shaft and insert a pin and a clamp (fig. 8.17). Turn a clamp against the stop.
7. Establish a cover of draft of gear shifting.
8. Screw a bolt of fastening of draft of gear shifting.
9. Adjust connection of the lever of gear shifting and tighten a bolt of fastening of a rod of a clamp.
10. Center the console.
11. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

Check of a rod of gear shifting
Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Wring out a lamellar clip on the end of each spherical insert.
3. Using the screw-driver, press outside to separate a rod from spherical couplings on gear shifting mechanism bolts.
4. Check a gear shifting rod.

Installation
1. Check a condition of connections of a rod of switching and press spherical inserts in couplings.
2. Press lamellar clips on the end of spherical inserts and fix them.
3. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

Connection of the lever and/or plugs

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Check a gear shifting rod.

3. Remove a clip and take a pin of fastening of hinged connection (fig. 8.19).
4. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a clamp of a rod.
Turn out a bolt of the lever mechanism from draft of switching.

5. Remove a hinged pin with a spring clip (fig. 8.20).
6. Remove the intermediate lever with connecting bolts.
7. Remove plugs.
8. Remove lock rings, the fixing pins on levers.

Installation
1. Install a pin on the lever and fix it by a lock ring.
2. Install plugs on the lever, previously having greased them with silicone lubricant 1052863 or equivalent.

3. Install the plug of the lever and a hinged pin (fig. 8.21). Fix a pin by a lock ring.
4. Establish connecting pins on draft.
5. Grease a pin with silicone lubricant 1052863 or equivalent and establish a pin and a clip on draft.
6. Check a gear shifting rod.
7. Adjust connection of the lever of switching and tighten a bolt of fastening of a rod.
8. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

 Speedometer drive gear wheel

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Disconnect from the transmission a cable of the drive of a speedometer and the socket from the speed sensor.
3. Turn out a bolt and remove a plate.
4. Remove a gear wheel and a cover.
5. Remove a sealing ring.

Installation
1. Establish a sealing ring, previously having greased it with vaseline.
2. Establish a gear wheel and a cover.
3. Establish a plate and fix it by a bolt, having tightened its moment 5 N • m.
4. Connect a cable of the drive of a speedometer and the socket from the speed sensor.
5. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

 Switching lever cover

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Uncover a stopper of a bulk opening.
3. Remove a hinged pin with a spring clip.
4. Turn out bolts of fastening of a cover.
5. Uncover and repair it in a workshop.

Installation
1. Establish a cover and laying on a transmission case.
2. Fix a cover by bolts, having tightened their moment 22 N • m.
3. Grease a pin with silicone lubricant 1052863 or equivalent and establish a pin and a clip on draft.
4. Check oil level in the transmission and if necessary add it. Screw a stopper.
5. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

Epiploon of a power shaft

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Lift the car and fix on support.
3. Remove a wheel.
4. Remove an antisplash casing.
5. Disconnect the lower spherical hinge.
6. Disconnect the end of draft.
7. Disconnect a power shaft from the transmission. The F16 transmission demands use of special tools for a detachment of a power shaft from the transmission.
8. A screw-driver edge as the lever, remove an epiploon of a power shaft.

1. Oil a working edge of a new epiploon for transmissions and establish by the hammer and a mandrel of the corresponding diameter an epiploon in a nest of the transmission (fig. 8.22).
2. Establish a power shaft.
3. Install the lower spherical hinge.
4. Fix the end of draft.
5. Check oil level in the transmission and if necessary add it. Screw a stopper.
6. Establish an antisplash casing.
7. Establish a wheel.
8. Lower the car.
9. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.

Transmission

       PREVENTION
If only the transmission (not differential) has to be removed, then it is necessary to remove a back cover and a secondary shaft from a transmission case.

Removal
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Remove the air filter.
3. Disconnect a coupling cable from the separating lever.
4. Remove a hinged pin with a spring clip.

5. Disconnect sockets from the sensor of speed and lamps of a backing (fig. 8.23).
6. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a clip of draft of gear shifting.

7. Turn out three top bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine (fig. 8.24).
8. Establish a fixing support of the engine.
9. Lift the car and fix on support.
10. Remove both forward wheels.
11. Remove an antisplash casing.
12. Disconnect condenser hoses from the transmission.
13. Vypressuyte both spherical hinges of a rotary fist.

14. Remove both shaft from a case of the transmission (fig. 8.25).
15. Remove a transmission casing from a trailer cover.
16. Disconnect both power shafts from the transmission.
17. Note paint the provision of installation of a main shaft of the transmission in a nave of the conducted clutch plate.

18. Remove the left adjusting arm and turn out the lower bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine (fig. 8.26).
19. Remove a transmission support.
20. Remove a forward part of the left adjusting arm.
21. Remove the transmission from the engine.

       PREVENTION
Leave the transmission only in vertical position.

Installation
1. At installation of the transmission insert the right power shaft into the transmission as it is difficult to establish it after the transmission was attached to the engine.
2. Screw the lower bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine and tighten their moment 75 N • m.
3. Screw bolts of fastening of the left back adjusting arm and tighten their moment 75 N • m.
4. Screw bolts of fastening of the left forward adjusting arm and tighten their moment 65 N • m.
5. Press power shafts in the transmission.
6. Insert spherical hinges into rotary fists and fix them.
7. Being careful, insert a main shaft into a nave of the conducted clutch plate.
Teeths of longitudinal shlits of both shaft have to be established in the corresponding gaps of teeths of the conducted clutch plate and knot of gear wheels. Combine earlier put tags.
8. Tighten the screw the moment of 15 N • m.
9. Establish a lock ring.
10. Connect a wire of connection with "weight" to a transmission case, screw a stopper and connect condenser hoses.
11. Establish a casing of a flywheel and fix by bolts, having tightened their moment 7 N • m.
12. Screw the top bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine and tighten their moment 5 N • m.
13. Establish an antisplash casing.
14. Establish both wheels, lower the car and tighten nuts of fastening of wheels the moment of 90 N • m.
15. Connect the socket to the switch of lamps of a backing and the speedometer drive.
16. Connect a coupling cable to the separating lever and adjust it.
17. Connect a wire to the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
Check oil level in the transmission.
Oil volume – 1,8 liters.
Oil for the transmission – GM Bo400075.SEA80.
