9.3. Recommendations about repair of the automatic transmission

When dismantling
At work with the automatic transmission be convinced that all details and tools pure, as far as possible.
Functional violations in the transmission are often caused by dirt and foreign inclusions.
Before work with the transmission disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery.
After dismantling clear the removed details, check for existence of wear and damages. If the damaged sealing rings are found, check the condensed and basic surfaces for existence of foreign objects, formation of agnails or damage.
Before dismantling of the transmission carry out an inspection of pressure of transmission liquid.
If during discharge of transmission liquid metal shaving or the remains of frictional overlays of clutch plates are found, disassemble the transmission and clear it. If during washing of the hydrotransformer foreign inclusions are found, replace the hydrotransformer. If defect turns out that that the damaged details can get to transmission liquid (the bearing or a gear wheel are filled in, the coupling is burned), the case of the valve needs to be sorted and washed out.
Carrying out it, it is necessary to work with extreme care as internal details of the case of the valve are not adapted for maintenance and repair as the replaced details. Do not damage in particular piston sealing rings and springs, do not lose fixing wedges. When dismantling the case of valves postpone pistons, springs and valves as they were established on the places. Carefully wash out the valve case, especially – the calibrated openings and channels, and then dry up them compressed air. If during repair traces of shaving, the tease or other damages of working surfaces are found, replace the corresponding knot (the case of the valve is taken to three pieces).
Clamping details in a vice, always use soft protective sponges. If deviations at measurement of torque are found, sort the corresponding knot and repair it. The support of fastening of the KM-110 transmission can turn with fixing in each situation through 1/4 turns to achieve preferable position of the transmission.

       NOTE
When weakening bolts of fastening of a case and its dismantling install the transmission in horizontal position (auxiliary points of the case up) as knots can drop out of a pit.

At assembly
Always use new laying and fasteners, excessively do not open lock rings. At installation into place dip into transmission liquid of a detail and bolts of the transmission. At installation of bearings and laying previously grease them with jellied lubricant that they kept on the place.
Blow compressed air all details, especially – channels, after use of cleaners. An inspection of work is carried out in parts with a low pressure of air: use the reducing valve and adjust pressure as appropriate. Before installation keep new clutch plates and brake tapes, at least, within 2 hours in transmission liquid.
